Hochzeits-Vorbereitungen / Wedding preparations

Nachdem wir am 1. April in Hamburg erfahren hatten, dass wir die Hochzeit Royal gewonnen hatten, waren wir natürlich sehr aufgeregt. Die Hochzeit war ja schon in 4 Wochen und trotz der Tatsache dass wir die Hochzeitsfeier gewonnen haben, gab es eine Menge zu Planen: Hochzeitseinladungen verschicken, das Brautkleid aussuchen, Walzer üben, Dekorationen auswählen, Ringe kaufen,...
Zuerst haben wir möglichst schnell alle, die wir einladen wollten, mitgeteilt, dass wir uns freuen würden, wenn Sie zu unserer Hochzeit kommen würden. Natürlich haben auch noch selbstgebastelte Einladungskarten per Post verschickt. Danach hatten wir noch jede Menge zu tun und das Fernsehen begleitete uns bei ein paar der Vorbereitungen.

We were told that we are the winners in Hamburg on April 1st. Of course, we were pretty excited. The wedding was only 4 weeks away and besides the fact that we had won the wedding celebration there still was lots to do: post wedding invitations, find a wedding dress, practise our waltz, choose decorations, buy the rings,...
First of all we told everyone we wanted to invite that we would love to celebrate our wedding with them. We also sent handmade wedding invitations by post. After that we still had a lot of things to do and to prepare. On a few occasions a TV team accompanied us.

Wir haben gewonnen! We won!

Vorgestern war es dann endlich soweit. Noch mitten in der Nacht mussten wir aufstehen, um dann pünktlich um 5:30 beim NDR 2 Radio zu sein. Bis zu Bekanntgabe der Gewinner um 8 Uhr durfte noch abgestimmt werden und alle Teilnehmer waren noch einmal live im Radio zu hören. Um kurz nach acht Uhr war es dann endlich soweit. Alle waren aufgeregt – die Finalisten, die Radiomoderatoren und die Zuhörer. Und als dann der Umschlag mit dem Namen geöffnet wurde und die Gewinner aus „Edewecht“ kamen, konnten wir es nicht fassen. Wir haben gewonnen! Glückstränen, viele gute Wünsche und Blumen folgten. Wir waren ganz schön durcheinander. Alles war so aufregend und spannend. Wir konnten immer noch nicht glauben was uns da gerade passiert. Vom Antrag bis hin zu der Bekanntgabe der Gewinner war alles wie ein Traum und einfach unglaublich. Zum Verschnaufen sind wir Vorgestern dann nicht mehr gekommen. Wir waren noch mal live im Radio und haben vor laufender Kamera schon mal Walzer geübt. Gleichzeitig kamen unglaublich viele Glückwünsche in SMS-Nachrichten, in E-Mails und bei Facebook. Die Handys standen nicht mehr still und wir konnten es immer noch nicht so richtig glauben. Nachmittags ging es dann zum NDR Fernsehen in Hamburg. Dort wurden wir dann auf unseren Auftritt in der Sendung „Mein Nachmittag“ vorbereitet. Das war eine spannende Sache, die noch keiner von uns vorher mitgemacht hat. Um kurz nach 16 Uhr war es dann endlich in „Mein Nachmittag“ soweit. Wir waren live im Fernsehen als Gewinner der „Hochzeit Royal“. Das Live-Interview im Fernsehen war eine tolle Erfahrung und es war interessant zu sehen wie so eine Live-Show produziert wird. Natürlich gab es auch dort wieder viele Glückwünsche, Blumen und sogar eine Torte.

Das wir gewonnen haben und unser Traum wahr wird haben wir erst heute richtig realisiert. Wir sind glücklich und gespannt wie alles weitergeht.

The day before yesterday the final day of the competition arrived. We had to get up very early, in order to arrive on time (5:30 a.m.) at the NDR 2 radio station. Before at announcement of the winning couple at 8 a.m. all couples were live on air once again.  At 8:10 the big moment arrived. Everyone was excited – the finalists, the radio hosts and the listeners. When the envelope with the names was opened and the winners were from “Edewecht“ we couldn’t believe it. We won! Tears of joy, lots of good wishes and flowers followed. We were flustered. Everything was very exciting. We couldn’t believe what had just happened. From the proposal to the announcement of the winners everything was like a dream and still unbelievable. There wasn’t really time to catch our breath the rest of the day. We were live on the radio once again and even practiced our waltz in front of the camera. At the same time were received lots of good wishes via text messages, e-mails and on Facebook. Our mobiles didn’t stop ringing and everything was still unbelievable. In the afternoon we went to the NDR TV station in Hamburg. There we were instructed for our appearance in the TV show “Mein Nachmittag”.  We were quite excited, because we had never been live on TV before.  At quarter past four we were the studio guests in “Mein Nachmittag”. The live interview was a great experience and it was interesting to see how a live show is produced. There too we received lots of good wishes, flowers and even a cake. That we have won and our dream will come true we finally realized today. We are really happy and interested in what will happen next.
